Deal Drivers Asia Pacific HY 2020
25 August 2020
Mergermarket is pleased to present the half-year edition of Deal Drivers Asia Pacific in association with Datasite.
As the first region to contend with the COVID-19 outbreak, deal activity across APAC was also muted in comparison with 2019. Total deal value and volume for the region dropped 12% and 13% YoY, respectively, to 1,744 deals worth US$255.1bn in H1. Though still momentous, these figures represent a far less stark decline than global M&A, which suffered a 53% decline in value and a 32% fall in volume over the same period. APAC’s thriving TMT sector contributed greatly to this relative resilience, accounting for US$59.2bn across 303 deals.
This report provides an in-depth review of M&A activity across the region, including analysis of the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
